Nothing is written: the way musicians move on stage, the way they’re going to play, their reactions, the public, nothing. I am recreating sensations, I am creating emotion

Patrick Savey began his professional career in Lyon in 1982 as journalist for Rock and worked also for one of the biggest radios in Lyon, until 1987.

In 1988, he participated in the creation of TV Lyon Metropole. He remained as speaker, producer and in charge of musical programs until 1993.

In 1989, he brought cameras to the festival Jazz in Vienne for the first time and he created SDP Productions, a company specialized in live performances movies and musical documentaries. He was director of many musical movies on different famous Europeans festivals such as Transmusicales de Rennes or Francofolies de La Rochelle (France), Paléo Festival de Nyon (Switzerland).

In 1994, he was director at the famous jazz club New Morning, first in Geneva then in Paris.

Over a span of next fifteen years, he has shot almost 150 concerts and 40 forty documentaries shooting.

In 1999, he participated in the processing of a new French channel, Equidia. He created and set up the equestrian broadcasts and trained several directors of the future channel.

In 2002, Patrick Savey created Zycopolis Productions, company specialized in video recording of live performances and documentaries.

Since then, he has shot lot of concerts on the stages of Jazz Festival at Juan les Pins, Jazz at Vienne), At Bercy in Paris, Zenith, Olympia…

Patrick Savey has won several awards for his work : We can mention in particular “The Legend of Groove”, a series of 7 movies (with Fred Wesley, Marcus Miller and Dee Dee Bridgewater…)

Patrick Savey was also nominated at the “Victoires de la musique” in 2010, French awards for music, in the category Musical DVD, for a film about Francis Cabrel.
