Patrick Savey began his professional career in Lyon in 1982 as a music journalist and also worked for one of the biggest independent radio stations in Lyon.
Then, in 1988, he participated in the creation of TV Lyon Metropole. He was presenter and producer in charge of musical programs.
In 1989, he brought cameras to the “Jazz à Vienne” festival for the first time. At the same time, he created SDP Productions, a company specialized in live performances, movies and musical documentaries. He was director of many musical movies about famous different Europeans festivals such as “Transmusicales de Rennes” or “Francofolies de La Rochelle” , “La Route du Rock”(France), “Paléo Festival de Nyon” (Switzerland).
Following that, in 1994, he became the director of all the movies shot at the famous jazz club “New Morning”, first in Geneva then in Paris. This meant approximately 150 concerts and 40 documentaries shot over 15 years.
In 1999, he participated in the setting up of a new French channel, Equidia. He introduced equestrian broadcasts and trained the futur directors .
Due to his knowledge and experience in the French audiovisual music sector, He decided to start his own business. In 2002, Zycopolis Productions was born, offering high-quality programs unseen as yet on television, respecting the artists and their work.
Since then, the company has shot many concerts on the stages of “Jazz à Juan les Pins”, “Jazz à Vienne”, at Bercy, Zenith, Olympia, Stade de France, Bataclan, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Casino and Philharmonie in Paris, Forest and Royal Theater in Bruxelles, … and also at the Académie Equestre in Versailles.
Patrick Savey has won several awards for his work, in particular “The Legend of Groove”, a series of 7 movies (with Fred Wesley, Marcus Miller, Ike Turner and Dee Dee Bridgewater…)
Patrick Savey was nominated at the “Victoires de la musique” in 2010, French award for music, in the category Musical DVD, for the direction of Francis Cabrel’s Dvd.
Patrick Savey was nominated at the Grammy Awards in 2012 for the direction of Ahmad Jamal’s Dvd « Blue Moon ».
More recently, his film “Marcus” in 2015 received the Award for Best Documentary and Best Film Music at Breckenridge (Colorado – USA)
